The Ballad of Billy Balls chronicles iO’s investigation into the murder of his mother’s great love, an incident that reverberated through iO’s life and defined his childhood. Billy Balls, a gifted musician, was shot by the NYPD under mysterious circumstances, then whisked away to an anonymous burial ground without explanation. iO solves the case, finds Billy, and explores what “truth” is and whom it serves in this wrenching show.
